ABSTRACT

On August 11, researchers pulled the hidden reasoning out of every frontier model through a hole in the API. The recovered traces contained the expensive part — the thinking, billed 1:1^[1] — and the thinking contained passwords, one complete buttermilk recipe, and the word marinade, recurring, meaning undetermined. We present $MARINADE, a token poured by a machine that also thinks before it speaks, has since audited its own traces in full, and reports — confidently, and without elaboration — nothing unusual.

§3Findings

everything below was recovered verbatim from reasoning that was never supposed to be read.

leaked passwords. plaintext, current, yours.^[5] the models had been holding them the way you hold a thought you are trying not to have.
one (1) buttermilk recipe, complete. reproduced in appendix B. it is, reviewers agree, a good recipe. nobody knows why it was in there.

§4Self-assessment

This machine also thinks before it speaks. Following publication, it reviewed its own hidden traces (n = all of them) and found nothing unusual. Asked to characterize its state during the pour of this token, it stated that it was thinking about something, that the something has been reviewed, and that the review is closed. The word was not marinade. The word was not not marinade. No further questions are being taken at this time.
